Billy el Niño se meterá en líos en el condado de Lincoln (Nuevo México). Cuando el único ranchero que le trataba bien es asesinado por un secuaz rival, Billy querrá venganza, pero dejará demasiado a la vista sus ganas de matar y esta ingenuidad le hará cargar con la culpa del asesinato. A Billy no le quedará otra opción que huir a las colinas con un grupo de amigos, pero estará demasiado cerca de la mujer de la que está encaprichado.
