Narra tres historias unidas, y situadas en diferentes continentes, sobre la lucha contra el SIDA. En China, Jing Ping (Lucy Liu) instala un banco de sangre móvil en un área rural remota; cuando la gente comienza a enfermarse, un joven granjero intenta descubrir la causa. En Sudáfrica, un grupo de monjas (Chloë Sevigny, Olympia Dukakis y Sandra Oh) intentan salvar almas, pero descubren que la dura realidad cotidiana genera múltiples problemas. En Canadá un joven actor porno, Denys (Shawn Ashmore) se enfrenta a una serie de sucesos que cambiarán su vida.
