Un vagabundo callejero (Harrison Muller) salva a una chica de ser violada por cuatro delincuentes. En la lucha es herido y trasladado a un hospital. Cuando se recupera, sufre constantes pesadillas de sus experiencias en Vietnam, donde fue agente para misiones especiales. El mayor Dundee (Richard Roundtree), se entrevista con él en el hospital y le invita a encontrar a un criminal traficante de drogas y presunto asesino de chicas llamado Slisko (Michael Aronin), ex-compañero del ejército y traidor. Evans, el vagabundo, acepta el encargo y acompaña a Dundee en la misión más peligrosa de su vida.
